I bought an Empress Chorus pedal about a month ago. I got it second hand, but the prior owner bought it new about two months ago. Recently, I've been having problems with it, in that it often just won't turn on. The signal still passes through to the amp, but the chorus/vibrato effect doesn't engage, and the LED doesn't light up. I initially thought this was a power problem, but I've swapped in two other batteries, and neither fixed the issue. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

I can post pictures of the guts if that will help. Thanks!

Have you tried.. with a power supply too ?
    Anyway... seems strange..
or some wire inside.. is where it shouldn't or maybe.. it's definitively gone !

yeah, like Gabriele asked, have you tried a power supply rather than batteries? It takes a standard Boss-style adapter. It could be the battery clip. There are other things it could be also, of course.

I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Hi SamuelAdams,
Sorry to hear that you're having difficulties with your Empress - do try an alternate power supply - but if this doesn't resolve the issue plese email me at ben@redwitchanalogpedals.com and we'll sort it out for you. (Don't worry about not being the original owner, we'll over look this little detail Smile )

Unfortunately, the power supply didn't fix the problem. I've sent an email to Ben to get it sorted out.

    Thanks for all the suggestions!
